Asbestos beater sheet—also known as asbestos beater paper, asbestos latex paper, or asbestos emulsion sheet—is a flexible sealing material produced from asbestos fibers, synthetic latex, and selected fillers. It is widely used in automotive, agricultural machinery, motorcycles, and engineering equipment. The material performs reliably in lubrication systems up to 200°C, and is often laminated with tinplate to manufacture asbestos composite gasket sheets.

Two main types are available to support different sealing and engineering applications.

Asbestos Beater Paper

A flexible base material designed for lamination with tinplate to form composite gasket sheets. Suitable for light-duty sealing applications and general mechanical use.

Vulcanized Asbestos Beater Sheet

Produced by vulcanizing the base beater paper, resulting in a smoother surface, higher density, and improved mechanical strength. This type can be directly cut into gaskets for engine oil pans, gearbox seals, and similar components.

Fluid Resistance:

• IRM 903 Oil, 150°C:

  • Thickness change: ≤25% / ≤20%

  • Weight change: ≤40% / ≤35%

• ASTM Fuel B, RT × 5h:

  • Thickness change: ≤25% / ≤20%

  • Weight change: ≤45% / ≤35%

• Water + Ethanol (1:1), 100°C × 5h:

  • Thickness change: ≤60% / ≤40%

  • Weight change: ≤60% / ≤50%
