Cork Sheet

Cork sheets for industrial gaskets, sealing, vibration damping, and insulation. Multiple densities, sizes, and custom op.....

Cork sheet is produced by blending selected cork granules with a resin binder, then compressing the mixture into solid blocks that are sliced into sheets or rolls. This manufacturing process gives the material excellent elasticity, reliable compressibility, and strong resistance to water, oil, and many solvents. Due to its natural resilience and sealing performance, cork sheet is widely used in industrial, mechanical, and insulation applications where vibration damping and leak prevention are required.

Features

Cork sheets offer outstanding recovery after compression, allowing them to maintain sealing performance under repeated load. The material provides effective resistance to moisture, oils, and common chemicals, making it suitable for demanding environments. Its flexible structure enables easy cutting and shaping, while different granule grades and densities allow performance to be tailored to specific pressure, flexibility, and durability requirements.

Specifications

Granule Grade Classification

  • Big Granule (8–12 mesh): Higher compressibility and flexibility, suitable for cushioning and vibration isolation

  • Medium Granule (12–24 mesh): Balanced strength and recovery for general sealing uses

  • Small Granule (30–60 mesh): Lower compressibility with higher density, ideal for precision gaskets

Typical performance ranges include tensile strength from 8–12 kg/cm², compressibility from 5–40% under 100 psi load, and recovery rates between 60–75%.

Density Options

  • Low Density: ~270 kg/m³

  • Medium Density: ~320 kg/m³

  • High Density: ~380 kg/m³

Higher densities provide improved strength and reduced compression, while lower densities offer better flexibility.

Dimensions and Packaging

  • Sheet Size: 915 × 610 mm

  • Thickness Range: 0.8–100 mm (trimmed sheets)

  • Roll Size: 1220 mm width × custom length, thickness 1–6 mm

  • Packing: Carton packing; sheets typically stacked to 300 mm height per carton

Custom sizes and thicknesses are available on request.

Applications

Cork sheets are commonly used for gasket materials, sealing pads, vibration isolation layers, and expansion joint fillers. They are widely applied in automotive components, machinery, pumps, compressors, and electrical equipment. Due to their thermal and acoustic insulation properties, cork sheets are also used in construction, flooring underlayments, and noise reduction systems where durability and environmental resistance are essential.
